Summer Suites & Cottages

Overlooking beautiful Caspian Lake, Highland Lodge’s farmhouse Rooms and vintage Cabins are each unique, perfect for a romantic escape or a family adventure. Please inquire about our special amenities, including cabin kitchenettes, panoramic lake views, and private covered porches.

Highland Lodge’s Summer Cabins are available from June through October. These quaint cottages were built as early as the 1920s - they are each unique and reflect the fascinating history of the Highland Lodge's founders and the many authors who call Vermont home. Please see individual descriptions for more details about each unique Room and Cabin. Your daily lodging rate includes a hearty breakfast in the lodge.

Our calendar opens up for all guests 365 days in advance, you can book your stay online or email us directly for inquiries through our Contact Form.

Accessible amenities include two first floor rooms in the main lodge, Smith Suite & Snowroller. Smith Suite has an ADA bathroom. Grace Cabin and Wallace Cabin have ramps to avoid the entrance steps, and Wallace Cabin has a roll-in shower. All other rooms in the lodge require one flight of stairs, while all the other cabins have two steps onto the porch entrances.

Our cottages are no longer pet friendly effective Jan. 1, 2023! As much as we love pupperoonies, we have made the difficult decision to suspend pet accomodations at Highland Lodge. Due the wear & tear on our facilities and the added work with clean up, it is no longer feasible for us to offer.

All of our rooms and cabins have linens, toiletries, and towels provided. Our private sandy beach has beach equipment and boat access complimentary for our overnight guests. WiFi is available in the main lodge.

Summer Cabins

Appolt Cabin

Our historic 1920s Appolt Cabin features three cozy bedrooms, retro kitchenette, vintage clawfoot bathtub, vintage gas stove for cool autumn nights, and charming artwork. Cabin equipped with cups, plates, bowls, silverware, cookware, linens, toiletries, and towels. Our private sandy beach has beach equipment and boat access complimentary for our overnight guests. Rate includes overnight accommodations for up to four, as well as a hearty breakfast, free wifi in the main lodge, and use of our beach, boats, and ski trails. Standard occupancy is 4, with more guests welcome for an extra guest fee.

Barrington Cabin

Our historic 1920s Barrington Cabin features two cozy bedrooms, retro kitchenette, vintage clawfoot bathtub, and original artwork. Cabin equipped with cups, plates, bowls, silverware, cookware, linens, toiletries, and towels. Our private sandy beach has beach equipment and boat access complimentary for our overnight guests. Cuthbertson Cabin

Davis Cabin

Edna Cabin

Named for Vermont author Edna “Annie” Proulx, our historic 1950s Edna Cabin features a covered porch, a spacious bedroom, refrigerator and coffee, full bathroom, and original artwork. Bedroom features one king bed. Rate includes overnight accommodations for up to two, as well as hearty breakfast and free WiFi. Standard occupancy is 2, with additional guests welcome for an extra guest fee. Occupancy is capped at three guests per fire code. While Edna cabin does not feature a standard kitchenette, it does offer a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and accompanying supplies!

Grace Cabin

Our historic 1950s Grace Cabin features a covered porch, a spacious bedroom, refrigerator and coffee, full bathroom, and original artwork. Bedroom features one king bed. Rate includes overnight accommodations for up to two, as well as hearty breakfast and free WiFi. Standard occupancy is 2, with additional guests welcome for an extra guest fee. Occupancy is capped at three guests per fire code. While Edna cabin does not feature a standard kitchenette, it does offer a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and accompanying supplies!

Wolf Cabin

Renovated in Spring of 2021, The Wolf cabin boasts a bright and open floorplan with all new energy efficient systems, two bedrooms, one full size bathroom, full size kitchen, and a spacious living room with both privacy and views of the lake. Standard occupancy is 4, with additional guests welcome for an extra guest fee (Sleeps up to 6). Rate includes overnight accommodations for four guests as well as hearty breakfast and access to all of our Highland Lodge amenities. All of our rooms and cabins have linens, toiletries, and towels provided. Our private sandy beach has beach equipment and boat access complimentary for our overnight guests.

Wallace Cabin

Tudor Cabin

Renovated in the Spring of 2022 by Craft Design Build VT, our newly energy efficient cabins are warm and homey, while thoughtfully designed for maximum lake views! Rate includes overnight accommodations for four guests as well as hearty breakfast and access to all of our Highland Lodge amenities. Mamet Cabin

The kitchenette features a small refrigerator and sink unit, coffee maker, two burner stove, and necessary cooking/ eating utensils. Mamet Cabin can sleep up to five guests.
