Have a Beer at Hill Farmstead Brewery
Continue the tradition of craft beer at the nearby Hill Farmstead Brewery, a local craft brewery. The Tap Room is open Wednesday through Saturday 12 PM to 5 PM and features craft brews such as Mary, Marie, Edward, and George, as well as the ominous Birth of Tragedy, the oak barrel-aged version of Hill Farmstead’s annual winter porter called Twilight of the Idols. Available for onsite consumption are other brews like Barrel Aged Dorothy and Farmer Wave. The combination of traditional, pastoral names with the colorful and mythical titles give Hill Farmstead Brewery a homey, warm, and cozy aura about it.
Grab a taste of Birth of Tragedy at Hill Farmstead Brewery during your stay with us at Highland Lodge. The craft brew is a specialized mixture with locally roasted coffee and Vermont honey and aged for a year in carefully selected bourbon barrels. You won’t find something better (and it’s not sold anywhere else). And with the Birth of Tragedy, you know you’re getting a genuine taste of Vermont and that’s what your stay is all about.
Hill Farmstead also hosts its annual event, Festival of Farmhouse Ales in early August, so plan your trip now. On August 5th, the festival kicks off with open taps at noon for a four-hour tasting of the brewery’s delicious craft beers. Many of the Farmstead’s favorite ales and oak aged variants will be available for tasting as well as cider. For more information on the festival and to view an upcoming complete list of craft brews that will be available for tasting, visit the website.
