or more than seventy years, guests from afar have been vacationing at the Highland Lodge. Begun as a farmhouse boarding house in the 1920s, the Lodge now hosts guests in 19 tastefully decorated rooms and cottages.
In the main Inn, the handsome lines of the original farmhouse are still evident. The sweeping Queen Anne porch has a lovely vantage of meadow, lake, and hills.
Wicker porch rockers and Adirondack chairs entice you to relax in the
tranquility of summertime in the country.
Families come back year after year to do just that. In July
and August the center of children's activities is the morning play program, where Snow Wakeman presides with a magical touch. In the afternoon activity centers around the
beach with the whole family. Summer amenities include:
- Private sandy beach and beach house on Caspian Lake
- Lake raft and dock, grills
- Paddleboats, pulling boats, canoes
- Clay tennis court
- Lawn games, including volleyball and badminton, horseshoes
- Barr Hill and Highland Lodge Nature Trails
- Acclaimed play program for 4-9 year olds (July & August)
- Game room
- Bicycle and sailboat rental
- Golf Pass to Mountain View Country Club (Greens fees extra)

n the fall, visitors come from all over the world to see the spectacular fall foliage. Whether you bicycle the scenic roadways, hike the Lodge trails, or drive one of the Cultural Heritage or
peak foliage road tours, you will relax and revel in the unspoiled, peaceful beauty of our landscape.
